Turkistan Islamic Party Leader's Statement on Events in Syria

Amid the rapid advances of the insurgency in northwest Syria and the Syrian government’s growing loss of control, the Turkistan Islamic Party- an Uyghur jihadist group with a branch in Syria, which has been participating in the offensive as an ally of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham- has issued a statement celebrating the advances as a victory over the “disbelievers” and tying the success of jihad in Syria to the hope for success in launching jihad in East Turkistan and freeing the area from Chinese rule.
