The Syrian Council of Ministers' Measures in Response to the Ukraine Crisis
One of the main concerns about the Russian invasion of Ukraine is the economic impact that the crisis will have in the Middle East. For Syria, the main concern is that of food security and prices, considering the country’s dependence on certain foodstuff imports from Russia, but there are also concerns about how the conflict will impact global oil prices. Accordingly, the Syrian council of ministers, headed by prime minister Hussein Arnous, held a meeting yesterday on the Ukraine crisis and its potential economic ramifications.
