The Life of Daniel Muhammad Hassoun: Hezbollah Fighter from Hadr in al-Qunaytra
The Druze village of Hadr in al-Qunaytra province in southern Syria on the border with the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights claims more than 100 ‘martyrs’ among military personnel and “civilians” (i.e. those not registered as having the status of military personnel) during the Syrian civil war. At least a couple of these ‘martyrs’ (here and here) I have documented were affiliated with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which has been seen as having an interest in recruiting people from the localities that border the Golan Heights and building a new ‘northern front’ to threaten Israel. Daniel Muhammad Hassoun is another Hezbollah ‘martyr’ from Hadr.
