Old Guide to Mosul for Visitors (1956, Iraq's Directorate General of Antiquities)
The following publication was issued by the Iraqi government’s Directorate General of Antiquities in 1956, printed in Baghdad. Written in English, the publication is a short guide to sites of interest for visitors to Mosul and the surrounding area. The guide gives an overview of Mosul and its demographics, while also listing Islamic and Christian religious sites, ancient Assyrian remains, and some sites of relevance to medieval history. Included also is a map of Mosul city pinpointing the sites of interest. At some point, I will translate this publication into Arabic.
