New Article: On the Islamic State in Sub-Saharan Africa
I have a new article out at the Hoover Institution’s The Caravan, focusing on the growth and development of the Islamic State’s affiliates in Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on the ideological affinity and loyalty of these affiliates to the ‘central’ leadership in Iraq and Syria, even as ‘Islamic State’ central does not have the resources to provide them significant financial support. Instead, these affiliates largely seem to fend for themselves in that the money is generated largely within Africa.
