In May, I was interviewed by Miguel Fernández for the Spanish-Basque newspaper GARA on the situation in Syria, focusing in particular on the Druze community in the Damascus suburbs and al-Suwayda’ province, Israel’s role in Syria, the U.S.-backed and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, and the Islamic State’s role as an insurgent force.
