Guest Post: The New Well in Qalb Lawze
[Translator and editor’s introduction, Aymenn Jawad Al-Tamimi]: Readers of my writings know that I have long covered the originally Druze region of Jabal al-Summaq in north Idlib countryside, focusing both on the lot of the original inhabitants as well as the general humanitarian situation in the region, especially issues of water scarcity. In the area of Qalb Lawze, a project was undertaken to extract water via digging a well. This project finally managed to attain some success today. This success, of course, should be celebrated. In this guest post (slightly edited and condensed for clarity), my friend ‘Odoacer’ of the Jabal al-Summaq village of Qalb Lawze writes of his happiness regarding the success of the project:
