My latest feature article for Syria in Transition (reproduced below) examines the question of what, if anything, remains of Iranian influence and networks in Syria following the collapse of the Assad regime. While the regime’s collapse constituted a severe setback for Iran and the ‘axis of resistance’, this does not mean support for Iran- such as on the ideological level- has disappeared entirely.
